Jenny Anne Durkan (born May 19, 1958) is an American lawyer from Seattle, Washington who served as the United States Attorney for the Western District of Washington from October 2009 through September 2014.〔Jerry Markon and Juliet Eilperin (September 25, 2014). ("Attorney General Eric Holder to Step Down," Washington Post )〕 ==Early life and education== Durkan grew up in Issaquah, Washington and attended a private Catholic girls school. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1980. After graduating from Notre Dame, she moved to an Inuit fishing village on the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta in Alaska, where she taught English and coached a girls basketball team.〔 Durkan earned her law degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1985.〔Callaghan, Peter.
